  3. This is a preview of the final version 1.0.

  5. After the release of 1.0 I will stop working on MCUT.
  6.  
  7. Unfortunally, my English is rather bad, so the documentation is
  8. completely written in German, you have to find s.o. who will translate
  9. it for you.

  11. Summary of what MCUT is, and how to install it.
  12. -----------------------------------------------
  13.  
  14. MCUT is a terminal-program for packet-radio. It needs a special kind
  15. of modem or driver-software, so it is useless if you are not a radio
  16. amateur.
  17.  
  18. You need either a TNC with TheFirmware 2.6 or higher at one of your
  19. serial ports or a resident driver software like TFPCX or PC/FlexNet.
  20.  
  21. It will not work with:
  22. KAM, AEA, MFJ original Software (use TFKISS)
  23. G8BPQ-Node, even not with WA8DED-emulation.
  24. TNCTSR (DRSI).
  25.  
  26. It is designed to work in the German pr-environment, and as we
  27. do not use FBB, there is no support for YAPP, unproto-Lists or
  28. other FBB-specific features.
  29.  
  30. The built-in BBS is able to forward in compressed FBB mode.
  31.

  34. To install the Terminal, just copy MCUT.EXE and MCUT.OVR in a new
  35. directory and execute it.
  36.  
  37. It will prompt for your callsign and for your TNC-settings.
  38.  
  39. If TFPCX or PC/FlexNet is detected, MCUT only needs your callsign.
  40.  
  41. All files and directories will be created automatically.
  42.  
  43. Thats all for the terminal.

  47. To install the BBS, refer to MAILBOX.TXT and to the examples in
  48. BOXETC.ZIP. The BBS has to be set up manually at the moment.

  50. Unpack BOXETC using PKZIP -d, to extract the subdirectories.
